It’s a shame, it’s a great plugin.

I can’t help but feel there’s a huge opportunity for someone to create a true social commenting plugin, that works with public APIs on Twitter, G+, Facebook, YouTube, etc, to integrate actual comments around a blog post, all in one place, in a single thread.

Perhaps set a minimum unique word count, so you don’t pull in RT’s or “I agree”, “great post”, etc. Livefyre comes closest with its SocialSync – still, be great to see unified approach. :)

In my experience, it seems like a lot of “Plussers” are also actively engaged on Pinterest which makes cross-posting a great way to reach new audiences.

I currently used Comments Evolved on my own site so it’s good to know that it’s no longer being updated.

The developer seems to have moved on (although it has been taken up by other devs at Github). Given the conflicts (and security risks) out of date plugins can cause, it was one of the reasons I stopped using Comments Evolved (which wasa shame, as I really liked it).
